failure

“If you’re a little bit unhappy now do you think 10, 20, 30 years of doing nothing will keep you a little bit unhappy? If you’re a little bit overweight now do you think 10, 15, 20 years of sitting behind a desk eating cheesecake for breakfast will keep you the same weight? If your relationships are a little bit tense now do you think if you do nothing they will still be a little bit tense 10, 20, 30 years from now? There is no sideways in life. Life applies friction.” ~ Jonathan Fields

There is a point in this Using Failure as Fuel Ted Talk by Jonathan Fields that resonated with me to my core. It is at about the 13:36 mark where he is talking about what happens if you do nothing about the small problems in your life and how that plays out over 10, 20, 30 years by creating friction and getting bigger! The examples he uses describes my life. Being a little overweight and doing nothing (consistently) has grown into becoming morbidly obese. Doing nothing about the ideas I had snowballed into analysis paralysis that has left millions of dollars on the table for someone else to claim. Small problems in relationships have grown into family becoming like strangers. It is a powerful lesson in taking action and doing whatever you can to make sure doing nothing doesn’t become a habit that defines your life.

The solution is to visualize success and take consistent action, NOW!
